The Quick 3

Ask these quick questions to hit the major themes of the film.

1. Harmony/Justice. Why do you think God is so concerned about justice? What do you think Isaiah 1:17 means?

  • Zee said she was on a mission to bring equality and justice to the world. Isaiah 1:17 says, “Learn to do good. Seek justice. Help the oppressed. Defend the cause of orphans. Fight for the rights of widows.” Justice is making sure everyone is treated fairly and that people get the consequences they deserve.

2. Courage. What do you think makes superheroes great? Would you describe yourself as resourceful and courageous?

  • Buck says, “what makes a superhero isn’t powers, but resourcefulness and courage.” Courage is being brave enough to make good choices, even when you’re afraid.

3. Purpose/Calling. What do you think is the reason you’re on Earth? What do you think your purpose and calling is?

After The Movie Discussion Guide

1. Buck was described as “daring, adventurous, and a little eccentric.” How would you describe yourself? How similar is your personality to Buck’s personality?

2. Crash and Eddie were constantly doing dangerous things. They didn’t always listen to Ellie, who was trying to keep them safe. How often do you get into mischief? Do you have trouble obeying the people in charge?

3. Ellie was adopted by a family of possums. She said that Momma Possum treated her like one of her own. Why do you think the possums adopted Ellie? How do you think Ellie was feeling in that moment?

4. Orson, the dinosaur villain, was trying to take over the Lost World. Buck said Orson had a prideful ego, thinking he was better than everyone else. Orson wanted to rule over everyone. Proverbs 11:2 says, “Pride leads to disgrace, but with humility comes wisdom.” Why do you think a prideful ego is so dangerous? When have you been prideful?

5. Zee said she was on a mission to bring equality and justice to the world. Isaiah 1:17 says, “Learn to do good. Seek justice. Help the oppressed. Defend the cause of orphans. Fight for the rights of widows.” Justice is making sure everyone is treated fairly and that people get the consequences they deserve. Why do you think God is so concerned about justice? What do you think Isaiah 1:17 means?

6. Buck and Zee were in conflict with one another. They disagreed and argued with one another. They were frustrated by each other’s actions. Crash and Eddie tell them to reconcile their conflict by using their feeling words. How quickly are you able to resolve conflict? Do you use your feeling words when someone upsets you?
